Can i work with expired work permit?

I came here united states on F1 visa. I completed my master's one year ago and got my work permit for 1 year. Now my work authorization card is going to expire soon. I have applied for married base green card because my husband is a US citizen. it almost 7 months, I still didn't receive my biometrics and work permit. I have a situation to leave my job but I don't want to. is there any option I can work?
