I was a passenger in a stolen car that crashed. Can I make a claim?

Just over 3 weeks ago I was a passenger in a stolen car that was involved in a crash with another car. My friend who was driving told me she had borrowed the car. If I knew it was stolen there is no way I would have got in the car. My friend was at fault for the accident as she didn't give way at a roundabout and pulled out in front of another car which smashed into the side. I went hospital the same night as I had a cut on the side of my head where I hit the window. The cut had to be stapled together and they also said I had whiplash which is still painful now. Please can you let me know if I would be able to claim compensation, or does the car being stolen (even though I didn't know at the time) mean I can't?
