Tripping over whilst jogging on large man hole cover not buried

Posted on 15 Apr 2017

I was out jogging with my army bag pack on weighing approx 20kg doing high intensity training. I was coming to a road and whilst looking both ways to cross I tripped over a manhole/drainage cover that was not correctly in the ground. It was raised approx 20/30 cm from the ground Instead of been planted into the ground. I stumbled and went off the inbankment and off the curb landing on the road crushing my ankle and fracturing my leg. I have been in hospital for three operations with pins and rods incerted in my ankle and leg and have spent approximately 3 weeks time there overnight. Am I entitled to any compensation and what steps do I need to take I have already took plenty of photos incase the cover is repaired?
