Technically no. On death, the Executor will have custody of any remains and are responsible for funeral arrangements. They are not required to follow any wishes expressed in the will although it would be unusual for them not to. In practice, the funeral is normally arranged by someone who accepts the task. If you think your executor may not follow your wishes you may want to think about making your wishes known to other family or friends s who could endeavour to carry them out.

It can be done relatively simply with a properly drafted Will. Consult a local solicitor who deals with Wills and they should be able to help you. They will probably draft your Will to create a Trust arrangement to give your husband a life interest in the property.
