In 2005 my partner died and in his will I was the main beneficiary.

My partner died in 2005 and I was the sole beneficiary in his will. Our house sold and the professional executor on the will who was also a good friend of my partners dealt with the sale (he was a legal executive with a well known chain of solicitors). After the completion of the house sale he disapperared with the proceeds and we never saw him again. He has recently popped up on social media. Is it worthwhile pursuing or shall I let sleeping dogs lie?
